Outward Bound Oman’s (OBO) very first national instruction centre was officially opened in Sharqiyah Sands on Wednesday. It was opened beneath the auspices of H H Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, and in the presence of H H Sayyid Faisal bin Turki al Said, patron of OBO, H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Said bin Saif al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development, and H E Hamish Cowell, Britain’s Ambassador to Oman, other dignitaries and supporters.
The centre created by neighborhood style consultants 23 Degrees North tends to make substantial use of solar power, treats and re-utilizes all water on website, and has currently been nominated for and, received numerous style awards.
Located inside the centre are gear retailers, two indoor instruction rooms, sleeping accommodation for 60 individuals, 4 studying pods, a majlis, prayer rooms and a lecture hall. This is the very first of the 3 to be constructed in the subsequent two years.
