Nrithodaya students give enthralling dance debut overall performance

Muscat – 

Hansa, Lakshmi, Malavika, Meghana and Prerana, students of Indian School Ghubra, not too long ago staged their debut Bharatnatyam Arangetram at Sri Krishna Temple Hall, Darsait.

The arangetram comprised the complete Bharatnatyam repertoire with Kowthuvam, Shabdam, Varanam, Keerthanam, Pushpanjali and Tharangam, followed by Mangalam.

The students started their arangetram journey eight years ago below the brilliant guidance of Shailaja Sreekumar, an exponent of Bharatnatyam who attributes her good results to her mother and guru Kalakshetra Vilasini, her father Muraleedharan Nair and her husband G Sreekumar.

The arangetram was graced by chief guest Sushma Pandey, wife of H E Indra Mani Pandey, Ambassador of India to the sultanate, guest of honour, Asawari Deoras, member, Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, unique guest Kalakshetra, retd prof R L V Music College, Tirupunithura, Kerala, India, relatives, buddies and effectively-wishers.

A very achieved orchestral team was led by the guru Shailaja on nattuvangam vocal assistance was supplied by Shani Vechiledath Krishnan, with mridangam accompaniment by Harikrishnan Ravikumar, Konneyoor Suresh on violin and Pradeep on flute, who produced the excellent atmosphere.
