Al Bhaj Books is bringing in more than 50,000 books for the occasion. Apart from English books there will also be books in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Gujarati and Telugu. The occasion will begin with a speech by Mohana Prabhakar, CEO, Apex Press and Publishing.
The particular guest for the occasion will be Nambi Narayan, renowned ISRO rocket scientist. There will be interactive sessions in between the Chandrayaan-1 mission scientist and the students of Indian schools. This was announced in the course of a press conference at the Embassy of India on Tuesday.
Speaking about the occasion, H E Indra Mani Pandey, Ambassador of India to Oman stated, “With time more and more people including children have started to go away from books. It is normally books on academics that children buy. This fair will indeed motivate children and adults to take to the habit of reading books.”
Dr Sathish Nambiar, chairman ISC Oman, stated, “We are pleased to have the occasion and hope to make it an annual occasion. There will be books of each sort and not restricted to only academics. There will also be interactions with authors and quiz shows. The stalls will have conventional appears to showcase the authenticity and flavour of distinct states of India.”
P M Shoukathali, managing director, Al Bhaj Books stated, “We have been dealing with books in Oman for years and it will be exciting to have an exhibition for the first time.”
