Money from quantity auctions will go to charity, says TRA

The maximum bidding quantity for a quantity has been fixed at RO5,000, whilst the minimum quantity for diamond and gold numbers has been set at RO100 and RO75 respectively.
In a choice (No 1/2008) issued by TRA on January four, the authority laid down the regulations for auction of particular numbers. Those interested will get a opportunity to register on the internet on operator’s (Omantel/Ooredoo) web site right after payment of RO20.

An official at TRA told Muscat Daily that according to the telecom regulations, the authority has the proper to give the cash generated from auction of numbers to charity.

Under the non-geographic public telecommunications numbers, TRA has divided particular numbers into 3 categories: Diamond, gold and silver.
