The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) on Sunday signed a cooperation agreement with Oman India Fertiliser Company (Omifco) to fund a quantity of scholarships. The agreement was signed by Lara bint Ghassan Obaidat, director common of Scholarships in MoHE, Khalid bin Mohammed al Fannah, external affairs director of Omifco and Dr Fuad Shadeed, acting president of Sharqiyah University.
The agreement stipulates that Omifco will fund a quantity of scholarships for graduates of the General Education Diploma from the social safety households in South Sharqiyah to study at the Sharqiyah University to acquire a bachelor’s degree in engineering specialties. The scholarships will be inclusive of tuition costs and other study supplies. These grants are topic to the supervision and management of MoHE.
These scholarships have been provided to all students via the Unified Admission System.
“The signing of this agreement with MoHE is part of Omifco’s social responsibility programmes. Supporting human capital is a key pillar of Omifco’s corporate investment strategy,” stated Fannah.
