The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has issued a number of Omani-Gulf standard specifications for detergents. These specifications seek to determine quality of these products and ensure safety of consumers as well as the environment.

Nadia bint Mohammed bin Hammoud al Sayabiyah, head of chemical and petroleum solution specifications division in the Directorate General of Standards and Metrology, mentioned, “There is no house exactly where there is shortage of detergents of all kinds and varieties. We use numerous chemical powders or options for washing, disinfecting, cleaning, polishing furnishings and floors, even sometime for air freshening and other such purposes in our day-to-day lives.

“Many consumers are not bothered about the risks in using these substances. They are also not aware of their immediate or long-term health risks when using without control or care.”

Nadia mentioned that industrial detergents are chemical compounds. Each compound has a certain part to clean or make cleaning simple. It is deemed to be a simple solution for the customer and fulfils a single of the most crucial wants, and is straight connected to his or her well being and life. Therefore, it is crucial that specifications ought to be clear and at no price ought to they be violated.

Nadia emphasised that customers, whilst utilizing detergent items, ought to abide by the warnings pointed out in the regular specifications.
