The Ministry of Manpower (MoM), represented by the General Directorate of Labour Welfare, in cooperation with private sector establishments, concluded an awareness campaign on the dangers of heat anxiety on Wednesday. The campaign was held below the patronage of Dr Khalid bin Salem al Saidi, secretary basic of the State Council.
The campaign’s activities focused on explaining the dangers to workers exposed to the afternoon heat in the summer season months of June, July and August. MoM conducts awareness campaigns at the starting of each summer season stressing the significance of cooperation of the companies involved in supplying occupational security and well being needs for workforces.
“The heat stress campaign is one of the most important steps taken by the ministry to find out the effects of high summer temperatures on workers in construction sites and exposed areas,” mentioned Salim bin Saeed al Badi, director basic of Labour Welfare, MoM.
He mentioned that the total quantity of private sector establishments that abided by the afternoon function ban law this year was 1,894, whilst the quantity of violators was 771 establishments. The ministry carried out two,665 inspection visits. Due to the significance of the campaign, efforts continued this year beginning in June till the finish of August to raise awareness of workers and to educate employers.
