The two-day programme was carried out in cooperation with the Gulf Training Centre for Intellectual Property in Kuwait, stated a press release.
The programme discussed the emergence of the idea of intellectual home rights, literary home, industrial home, the value of patents, inventions,technologies, transfer of technologies to patents, the situations of granting patents and the manner of submitting an international application.
It also dealt with the formal examination of patent applications in the patent workplace to make sure that all the needed documents are in the application file and to confirm their correctness.
In case of failure to comply with any of these procedures or if the documentation is lacking, the workplace shall notify the concerned celebration inside 3 months.
The participants have been informed on the techniques of filing of a national application and a regional application by filing a patent application with the Patent Office of the Gulf Cooperation Council, a regional workplace of the Gulf Cooperation Council, primarily based in Riyadh.
The patent certificate granted by the workplace to the inventor offers legal protection in all member states.
