The workshop was organised by the Environment and Nature Reserves Authority in Sharjah.
The occasion, held in cooperation with Wetlands International and BirdLife International, was component of continuous cooperation in between the ministries and other sectors in GCC nations in order to develop and create the capacity of experts in wetland environments.
Oman, represented by MECA, presented a functioning paper titled, ‘The Sultanate’s Efforts in the Conservation and Management of Wetland Environments’.
It was presented by Bader bin Saif al Busaidi, a nature reserve specialist.
At the occasion the experiences of the participating nations had been discussed. Developing a regional technique for monitoring and manage of coastal wetlands in the Arabian Peninsula area contains efforts to assess waterbirds in the region and to recognize, document and monitor modifications in the ecological status of coastal wetlands of international significance.
