The occasion was held at the Lecture Hall of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, stated a press release.
Titled, ‘Japanese Government Scholarship and Student Life in Japan’, the scholarship has been introduced by MEXT: Ministry of Education, Cultural, Sports, Science and Technology, 2019 for postgraduates.
The occasion saw officials presenting specifics expertise sharing by former students. At the opening ceremony, Hideaki Yamamoto, deputy chief of mission of the Embassy of Japan stated, “We welcome more outstanding Omani students to study in Japan and they are expected to play an active role in promoting relations between Japan and Oman during their studies in Japan and after coming back to Oman.”
Kanako Fukuda, cultural attaché from the Embassy of Japan created a presentation highlighting the advantages of the scholarship supplied by MEXT in Japan to the Omani students. She presented specifics of the application method for the scholarship.
The chosen students will be necessary to pursue a six-month intensive Japanese language course in most courses.
Hamza al Kindi, a former scholarship student briefed about his expertise as a scholarship student in Japan. He completed his MSc in Chemistry from Tohoku University and is now functioning in a prominent organization in Oman.
The lecture was attended by a big quantity of students.
