ISD organises 5th Nikon Inter-college Photography Competition, Exhibition

Indian School Darsait (ISD) organised the 5th Nikon Inter-School Photography Exhibition and Competition below the aegis of BoD, Indian Schools in Oman, sponsored by Khimji Ramdas. Anil Khimji, director, Khimji Ramdas, was the chief guest at the valedictory function held in the evening. Sachin Malhotra, COO, Khimji Ramdas Luxury &amp Lifestyle, was the guest of honour.

The function started with the lighting of the lamp. Harikesav Pramodu, head boy, welcomed the chief guest and the dignitaries to the day’s function. The students from the SEN Department presented a chocolate bouquet and block printed shawl and coat to welcome the chief guest and guest of honour. Dr Sridevi P Thashnath, principal, delivered the introductory speech and elaborated on the procedures followed in the identification and choice of the entries by an eminent panel of judges and the particulars of the On the Spot Photography Competition. She recalled the benevolence and magnanimity of Khimji Ramdas and their bountiful assistance extended to the Inter-School Photography Exhibition and Competition more than the years.

Jaikish Pavithran, president, SMC reminisced his days as a photographer and shared his encounter in capturing the special moments in his life. He additional described photography as a blending of art, science and culture and explained how a photographer becomes eternal via his photography. Malhotra lauded the efforts of the college for organising such an occasion.

Khimji announced the leading 3 winners of the ‘On the Spot Photography Competition’ and presented them DSLR cameras with sophisticated functions by Khimji Luxury &amp Lifestyle and Nikon Middle East. Adithya Krishna of Indian School Nizwa bagged the very first prize although Shelbin of Indian School Muladha won the second prize and Alan Thomas Abraham from Indian School Nizwa came third.
