The mega sports occasion was inaugurated by the Indian Social Club, Salalah chairman, Manpreet Singh.
Sports secretaries Ajith and Binoy P helmed the tournament and thumbed the guidelines for the players and umpires.
General secretary Hridhya S Menon coordinated the ceremony and controlled the proceedings.
Sixteen teams are slated to participate in this fascinating sports extravaganza. “ISC has conducted underarm cricket for many years now and we are really happy that this time, we have record-breaking sixteen teams taking part,” mentioned chairman Singh in his welcome address.
The inaugural match was played among Karnataka Wing-B vs Marathi Wing, with the Marathi Wing winning by 29 runs.
The second match on inauguration day was Kerala Wing-B vs Gujarati Wing, wherein Gujarati Wing won by 5 runs. Cultural Secretary Ramesh Kumar proposed the vote of thanks. The tournament which is scheduled to go on all through the month is element of ISC’s year-extended sporting activities.
