International Specialized Center for Heart & Vascular Diseases opened in Azaiba on Monday. The occasion was held beneath the auspices of H E Dr Hamad bin Said al Oufi, Undersecretary for Fisheries in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, in the presence of Tariq al Farsi, CEO of Al Raffd Fund.
“The International Specialized Center for Heart & Vascular Diseases deals with complex heart and vascular-related diseases by providing high-end services to patients through the use of modern technology, with professional doctors,” Dr Matlooba al Zadjali, executive director and senior cardiologist at the centre, told Muscat Daily.
She added, “We aim to reduce the burden of cardiovascular diseases in the country and to save the budget for the health sector. We mainly target the risk factors which lead to cardiovascular diseases.”
The centre is deemed to be the very first in the private sector for heart and vascular ailments in Oman. It can accommodate 20 individuals per day.
“We use technology, considered to be the latest for diagnosing cardiovascular diseases. We thank Al Raffd Fund for supporting us in setting up the centre,” Dr Matlooba mentioned.
