Indian Social Club Salalah honours Malayalam writer

Muscat – 

Indian Social Club Salalah not too long ago honoured Subhash Chandran, an eminent writer and scholar from India. The guest was presented with a memento by the chairman of Indian Social Club Salalah, Manpreet Singh.

Singh hailed Chandran’s contribution to Malayalam literature and urged Malayalis and other communities to advantage from his well-known Malayalam books.

Chandran has received several significant literary awards which includes Sahithya Academy Awards from Government of Kerala, Government of India and Odakkuzhal award. He thanked the chairman and other members of the management committee for the grand reception hosted in his honour and praised the efforts place in by the chairman and management committee in creating the club a vibrant and lively location for Indians to meet and to showcase their cultural talents. He urged the management committee to market literature and classics amongst the new generation so as to create friendship and brotherhood beyond the boundaries.

He was overwhelmed by the organic beauty of Salalah and even deemed that it be added as the eighth wonder of the globe. He mentioned that the inhabitants are blessed with the enchanting beauty of Salalah and additional praised the coherent living and welcoming attitude of the folks.
