Addressing a press conference final week, Dr Baby Sam Saamuel, chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman stated, “We are preparing a series of programmes for teachers which includes a centralised coaching programme. The coaching programme will be for all teachers across the Indian schools managed by the board. We will have programmes for principals as well. Training will be performed by the trainers affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education.
“Teachers are our backbone. We cannot do anything without the support of teachers. We have revised their salaries and are keen to bring parity in the system. We will have salary parity across the schools in the coming four years. Once fully implemented, the salary structure will be on a par with international schools.”
He stated some Indian schools have began supplying additional classes to aid students beyond the usual classroom hours.
