Indian schools program series of initiatives for improvement of students, teachers

These initiatives that come beneath the Academic Initiatives Vision 2020 contain empowering teachers by organising different coaching programmes and introducing possibilities for students to turn out to be self- and lifelong learners.

Addressing a press conference final week, Dr Baby Sam Saamuel, chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman stated, “We are preparing a series of programmes for teachers which includes a centralised coaching programme. The coaching programme will be for all teachers across the Indian schools managed by the board. We will have programmes for principals as well. Training will be performed by the trainers affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education.

“Teachers are our backbone. We cannot do anything without the support of teachers. We have revised their salaries and are keen to bring parity in the system. We will have salary parity across the schools in the coming four years. Once fully implemented, the salary structure will be on a par with international schools.”

He stated some Indian schools have began supplying additional classes to aid students beyond the usual classroom hours. The academic initiatives for kids contain assessment of pupils, E-magazines edited by students, enabling them to paint college pillars with their signature, introducing cultural exchange programmes, program study tours, and student counselling 24×7 and 365 days, inculcating habits amongst kids to maintain their books in a appropriate manner so that they can present the identical to other individuals who are in require and in junior classes.

“We have an etiquette training programme for the teaching staff. Parents want to see more smiles when they come to school,” Dr Saamuel stated.
