Shriya and Revanthika have been studying the art for numerous years below Githaa Ravishannkhar, director, Sohar Institute for Music and Arts, Sohar.
Both of them performed nine dances, each and every in maintaining with Kalakshetra tradition in the Arangetram programme. Both performances began with Pushpanjali followed by the conventional invocatory dance on Lord Ganesha.
The highlight of the efficiency of Shriya was the Varnam for the song ‘Nee indha Maayam’ wherein she really ably depicted the different miracles of Lord Krishna, particularly her enactment of Kuchela-Krishna Meet and delighted the audience. Her solo efficiency ended with an energetic Thillana.
Revanthika enthralled the big audience from Cuddalore and nearby villages who gathered to witness her Arangetram. She was effectively applauded for the really gorgeous portrayal of different incarnations of Lord Vishnu for the Varnam song ‘Engum Niraindha Paramporule’.
The highlight of her efficiency was the Snake Dance for the song ‘Naadhar Mudimel’ in which she mesmerised the audience via her swift snake like movements and displaying ferociousness to the enchanting flute music. Revanthika also ended her efficiency with a brilliant Thillana in Kathanakuthookalam Ragam.
The chief guests and guests of honour appreciated the great performances of Shriya and Revanthia and praised their guru Githaa for the superb choreography and coaching and for maintaining the tradition without having compromise. The reside music was supplied by Radha Badri (vocal), Sekar Ranganathan (mridangam), V R Krishnan (violin) and E Devaraj (flute).
