The volunteers of Green Gyan-Eco Club of Indian School Sohar are determined to take a vow to preserve Oman cleaner and greener by recycling waste. To achieve this, students of classes III-V participated in a campaign to gather waste papers, newspapers, books, magazines and drop it in the paper recycle bin installed in the college premises.
The drive was initiated by the club coordinator Kamal Prasad Gurung and section coordinator Saima Ahmad.
The Principal, Sanchita Verma, and the section supervisor, Alka Singh, also encouraged young volunteers to participate and spread the message of recycling paper waste in the neighbourhood and aid in saving the atmosphere. The response of the students was overwhelming, which produced this campaign a fantastic and effective a single. The outcome was that a single tonne of paper waste was collected.
