His Majesty the Sultan presides more than 48th National Day military parade

Symbolic units representing the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO), the Sultan’s Special Force (SSF), the Royal Oman Police (ROP) and the Royal Court Affairs (RCA) took component in the military parade.

Upon the arrival of His Majesty the Sultan at the parade ground, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs and Lt Gen Ahmed bin Harith al Nabhani, SAF chief of employees had been honoured to get him. Upon His Majesty the Sultan’s arrival at the Royal Box, the parade columns gave the military salute, the Royal Anthem was played by the joint military band and the artillery fired a 21-gun salute.

Afterwards, the commander of the parade column approached the Royal Box requesting permission from His Majesty the Sultan to commence the military parade. It started with the efficiency of the joint military band representing the corps of SAF, RGO, ROP and RCA which marched just before the Royal Box in a slow formation. Then, the columns of the Protocols Guard performed the military parade although providing salute to His Majesty the Sultan. After that, the joint military band performed different conventional and international pieces. Then, the columns of the Protocols Guard chanted the military anthem Ya Hay Ya Qayoom
.

The Protocols Guard chanted the contact of loyalty and allegiance and proclaimed thrice, ‘Long live His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces’.

Then, the Royal Anthem was played and the columns of the Protocols Guard gave the military salute to His Majesty the Sultan, signalling the conclusion of the military parade.

Then, His Majesty the Sultan left the parade ground. The military parade was attended by their highnesses, the chairmen of the State Council and Majlis A’Shura, their excellencies the ministers, advisors, the commanders of SAF, RGO, SSF, ROP and the military and safety apparatuses, and honourable members of the State Council and members of Majlis A’Shura.

It was also attended by undersecretaries, walis, governors, judges from the Governorate of Muscat, Omani ambassadors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and heads of the diplomatic missions of the nations accredited to Oman.

The parade was attended by military attachés, senior military commanders and officers, senior state officials, sheikhs and dignitaries and commissioned and non-commissioned officers and personnel of SAF, RGO, SSF, ROP, RCA and other safety solutions in the state.
