The forum was organised by the Supreme Council for Planning as a single of the communication initiatives that attain social partnership, below the patronage of H E Sheikh Dr Khalifa bin Hamad al Saadi, Governor of Dakhliyah.
Dr Yousef bin Hamad al Balushi, economist at the Vision Office, submitted a short presentation on Oman Vision 2040, which was primarily based on the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, and the accompanying objectives, points, themes, milestones, stages, preparation and committees.
After that, a public discussion session was performed on Oman Vision 2040, in which the members of the sectoral and qualitative committees participated.
The participants then have been divided into 3 discussion groups that dealt with the very first theme, ‘Man and Community’, to market social welfare, preserve the identity and heritage of Oman and create national competencies.
The second theme, ‘Economy and Development’, addressed wealth achievement by means of a diversified economy, empowering the private sector, establishing a modern day infrastructure and an integrated urban method, preserving the sustainability of the atmosphere and reaching balanced improvement of the governorates.
The third theme, ‘Governance and Institutional Performance’, aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of governance and institutional efficiency, the rule of law, raising the efficiency of government agencies, raising the degree of coordination in between them and strengthening the self-confidence of citizens.
