The spirit of charity is soaring in Ramadan, amply proved by the collection on sultanate’s one-stop donations portal, donate.om . The portal has raised RO118,600 in the first 15 days of the holy month, while collecting RO150,399 in the month of May.

The portal had raised RO67,653 in the very first 15 days of Ramadan in 2017, whilst it collected a total of RO252,784.63 in the course of the holy month final year. In a statement, the Information Technology Authority (ITA) stated that each year it organises an awareness and promotional campaign for the portal by means of its social media accounts. Other mass media channels are also utilised to make individuals conscious about the portal and urge them to donate by means of it. “The authority has worked hard in cooperation with the Omani charitable societies and with the support of the Ministry of Social Development to design and run this portal,” it stated.
