MoH in cooperation with Muscat Municipality is conducting a survey on the presence of Aedes aegypti mosquito accountable for transmitting dengue, yellow fever, Zika illness and other viral ailments.
In a statement MoH mentioned, “We conducted a field survey and found that Aedes aegypti mosquitoes were present in the wilayat of Seeb. This case of dengue fever was not travel related but due to local transmission.”

The ministry calls on citizens and residents to cooperate with the field teams involved in eliminating the breeding web sites of mosquitoes and hence stopping endemicity of such ailments. “We call on everyone to not pay attention to rumours and seek information from reliable sources.”
