The State Council delegation, led by Chairman H E Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri was received by Andrej Babiš, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, on Wednesday.

Czech Republic PM receives State Council delegation

The State Council delegation is on an official 4-day pay a visit to to the Czech Republic.

Babiš expressed hope that the pay a visit to will contribute to the consolidation of great relations among the Czech Republic and Oman and expand the fields of cooperation among them, stated a press release.

He appreciated the efforts exerted by the sultanate beneath the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for regional stability and the enhancement of international peace and safety.

Babiš stressed the keenness of the sultanate to create its relations with the Czech Republic and boost cooperation with it in all fields. The State Council chairman talked about cooperation among the two nations, particularly in financial, trade and investment elements, pointing out to the availability of investment possibilities in numerous sectors, and the benefits and incentives for investors.

The meeting was attended by the State Council delegation.

The Omani delegation was also received by Radek Fondrachik, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation among the two nations, particularly in the parliamentary field.

H E Dr Mantheri mentioned that the sultanate is keen to strengthen its relations with friendly nations, stressing the function of parliamentary diplomacy in attaining this. Further, he highlighted the function of the Council of Oman inside the scope of the state of institutions and expressed his hope for additional cooperation among the Council of Oman and the Czech Parliament in the future.

The meeting was attended by the State Council delegation and a quantity of members of the Czech House of Representatives.

Also, the Omani delegation met Czech Culture Minister, Ilja Šmíd. They discussed boosting cultural relations.

H E Dr Mantheri highlighted the value of culture and its function in strengthening bonds amongst individuals, deepening communication among nations, contributing to deepening the dialogue and enhancing typical understanding amongst individuals.

He mentioned that Oman has a deep cultural heritage, involving individuals from different civilisations. The Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic mentioned that his nation seeks to develop bridges of cultural communication with Oman.

The meeting was attended by officials of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

The official pay a visit to will conclude on Thursday.
