Conference discusses future of human resource management

The 3-day occasion is becoming held at the Oman Convention &amp Exhibition Centre.

This year’s conference, becoming held below the theme ‘Tomorrow is now. Are we there yet?’, will offer a platform to engage and inspire the HR neighborhood in Oman and in the area. The conference, with a lot more than 400 regional and international participants, has a quantity of discussions and deliberations on the ever-evolving and difficult human resource landscape.

Dr Ghalib Saif al Hosni, OSHRM president, mentioned, “It is my pleasure to be right here with you these days at the opening ceremony of the fourth annual conference of the Oman Society for Human Resource Management below the theme, ‘Tomorrow is now. Are we there yet?’ The conference comes as a continuation of the huge successes of the prior conferences. Since its official commencement in May 2014, OSHRM has continued functioning tough and contributing to the improvement of the human resource sector in the sultanate.

“This is inspired by the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said who emphasises on giving the human resource in the country the utmost attention and working on its development and equipping it with the skills and knowledge required by the labour market. “OSHRM conferences were privileged to host a large number of local and international specialists and experts with much experience in the arena of human resource management. These conferences constitute an ideal platform for exchanging expertise and knowledge and for discussing fundamental issues.”

He added, “Workplaces have made incredible strides in the past few years and will continue to make progress. This conference give us a platform to discuss where human resource is heading and the lessons we have learned and we are still learning.”

The conference is seeking at how automation, technologies, transparency, regulation, technique and globe economy are affecting human sources management, mentioned Dr Hosni.

“In the future some professions such as journalism, accountancy and legal profession can be replaced by electronic systems. Today there are factories in Japan that do not employ any human beings. The direction of future is automation.”
