The Centre of Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) at the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) was officially opened at a ceremony held beneath the patronage of Dr Ali bin Saud al Bemani, vice chancellor, SQU on Monday.
CETL seeks to supply solutions to academic faculty, hence enhancing the high quality of teaching and studying initial at SQU, then at each public and private greater education institutions nationally. The centre also tends to make visible the intellectual perform of teaching although recognising superb Faculty Fellows across the SQU Colleges.
In his address, Prof Amer al Rowas, deputy vice chancellor for academic affairs and neighborhood service, SQU stated that the choice to establish CETL was issued on June 18, 2014. It is mainly intended to enhance the level of teaching and studying.
“Since its inception, CETL has stimulated teaching and learning in higher education through applications of the best teaching and learning strategies based on research and scientific evidence. During the past three years, CETL has hosted a number of international speakers, held scientific workshops, organised conferences and panel discussions for researchers and specialists,” Prof Rowas stated.
