Carnatic Music Concert Festival organised in Muscat

Muscat – 

Ekata Navarathri Sangeethothsavam 2018, Muscat’s very first ever nine day Carnatic Music Concert Festival, was organised by Ekata Muscat and was inaugurated by India’s Ambassador to Oman, H E Munu Mahawar. 

Maheshji Naveen Chandra Ebji Ashar, managing director, EBJI Group, was the guest of honour. Raman T N, core committee member of Ekata Muscat, delivered the keynote address. Art enthusiasts from all walks of life attended the function at Al Ahli Club Hall in Darsait on Wednesday.

Ekata Muscat is a forum for art lovers aimed at advertising Indian Classical art types, and they are creating their debut with this music festival. Accomplished artistes from Oman and abroad will carry out to the Carnatic music aficionados in Muscat consecutively for nine days.

The inaugural day concert featured Suresh Subramanian rendering the Carnatic Vocal to a totally packed audience, ably supported by Mavelikkara Satheesh Chandran on violin and Delhi Sreenivasan Raman on mrudangam. Another highlight of the festival was the Carnatic Vocal Concert on second day by Palghat K L Sreeram accompanied by Chandran on violin and N J Nandagopal on mrudangam. Many musical fraternities in Muscat which includes Thyagaraja Samithi are taking component in this festival. Concerts will be from 8pm to 10pm daily till October 18 and the entry to the occasion is free of charge.

On the early morning of the tenth day, the auspicious occasion of Vijayadasami Vidyarambham, prominent persons from diverse fields will initiate youngsters in to the planet of letters. Classical music students will have the chance to do the music providing from 8am till 12pm. For registration, contact 95239666 from 11am till 6pm.
