Under the patronage of H E Ali bin Khalfan al Jabri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Bayan College held a forum beneath the slogan ‘For Oman, we communicate’, the very first media statement forum. H E Jabri expressed his happiness throughout his conversation with students and media correspondents who attended the forum.
He stressed on the value of this forum for the activities carried out by the students of Bayan College and the members of the Oman Journalists Association. He pointed out that the signing of the students from the Bayan College on the Media Charter in Oman, which was achieved by the Oman Journalists Association, reflects a deep understanding by the college about the value of these charters.
He emphasised the assistance of the Ministry of Information for such media gatherings as the members of these colleges see numerous issues and open their eyes to numerous information and bring them closer to the choice-makers such as editors of the Oman News Agency and editors in other media organisations.
The very first media conference was attended by the chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Oman Journalists Association, a quantity of nearby newspaper editors, a quantity of Omani media personalities and a group of activists on the social networking web sites to go over techniques to boost the efficiency of the activists on social networking web sites in order to serve their nation and the Omani individuals. Dr Moudhi bint Juma al Ghilani mentioned that the forum is a developing that contributes to the service of Oman as it moves towards the vibrant future and much better tomorrow beneath the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
The participants in the forum contribute to the youth of Oman in advertising the cultural achievements of the sultanate and advertising the values and principles of developing and peace established by His Majesty the Sultan. She added that given that the foundation of the statement by Dr Juma al Ghilani in 2006, it has established itself in accordance with the vision of its founder to contribute to the service of the society and its needs in advertising and upgrading. Salem al Jahouri, deputy chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Journalists Association, addressed the factors behind the adoption of a media code of conduct and the actions that accompanied the issuance of the very first concept till it was signed by Omani media and journalists institutions.
