Bank Sohar receives leading prize in ROP’s Road Safety Awards contest

A ceremony to announce the winners of the contest was held final week at the Traffic Safety Institute in Seeb beneath the patronage of H E Nasser bin Khamis al Jashmi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance.

Representing Bank Sohar at the occasion had been Munira Abdul Nabi Macki, GM – HR and corporate help and Mazin Mahmood al Raisi, senior AGM and head of Marketing and Customer Experience.

The award, which marks the bank’s very first recognition in this year, was presented to in acknowledgement of the originality, effectiveness and general achievement of its two-year road security campaign ‘RakizWaSouq’.

Reiterating the bank’s gratitude towards the award, Mohammed Mahfoudh al Ardhi, chairman, Bank Sohar, stated, “We really feel honoured to be the very first monetary institution in Oman to have won the award. On behalf of the bank, I would like to thank the ROP for recognising the immense enthusiasm and commitment we espouse when it comes to producing Oman’s roads safer for future generations. The primary driver for the campaign was a jingle that received nation-wide interest and was actively promoted across all the bank’s media channels. In addition, the bank engaged in direct communication with audience on the topic of road security by means of typical contests on its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms.

Thanking the ROP for the prestigious award, Munira stated, “Our primary goal was to reach a wide audience where we decided to employ children as ambassadors for the campaign. It was more effective to plant the seed of road safety habits in children as well as encourage them to advise their parents on the subject.”
