Australian National Day celebrated

Australian National Day celebrated

Chairman, Susan Rae, welcomed the guest of honour, Australian Ambassador H E Dr Ralph King, as nicely as almost 50 Omanis who had studied in Australia.

She stated, “We love to meet up with the alumni, and to reminisce with them about their time spent in Australia. They enjoy rekindling old friendships and to again share their memories and experiences.”

She added, “It’s also a time when our members can join together to thank our sponsors for their support of our business group, which seeks to strengthen business ties between Oman and Australia.”

Key sponsors consist of Bank of Beirut, Addleshaw Goddard and Worley Parsons, all of whom attended the occasion.

Qatar Airways, which is expanding its flights to Australia donated a door prize of a return flight to any Australian city in their network. Lamingtons, meat pies and a sausage sizzle, all synonymous with Australia Day, have been featured in the menu, with a backdrop of iconic Australian photos, such as the Sydney Opera House, Uluru and the Great Barrier Reef.
