Auction for petrol stations on Batinah Expressway, Adam-Thumrait Road in Dec

H E Eng Saif bin Amer al Shaqsi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Housing, and head of the Public Auction Committee for the Integrated Service Stations on expressways, stated that the ministry will announce the very first auction for integrated stations in December.

He stated the auction contains six places, 3 of which are on Batinah Expressway (in the wilayats of Suwaiq, Saham and Liwa), and 3 on Adam–Thumrait road (two in Haima and 1 in Muqshin). He pointed out that the Public Auction Committee, in cooperation with the ministries of Finance, and Commerce and Industry and the Supreme Council for Planning, has set the terms, technical specifications and carried out surveys for the bids for the integrated stations.

The productive bidders will sign lengthy-term land usufruct agreements for 50 years (renewable). The bids ought to be submitted only by Omanis or Omani organizations and establishments totally-owned by Omanis except for the closed joint stock organizations exactly where Omanis personal at least 70 per cent of the capital, H E Eng Shaqsi stated.

“The integrated stations will provide ideal environment as they will provide high-quality services and facilities that meet the needs of road users. The stations will play a role in enhancing economic and tourism activity,” he added.
