Al Ansab Sewage Treatment Plant phase II perform nears finish

Eng Khalid bin Hassan al Lawati, acting projects basic manager at Haya Water, was quoted in a press release as saying, “The treatment plant is currently in the commissioning stage and the capacity of Al Ansab STP after this expansion will reach 125,000m3 per day. The plant is equipped with a state-of-the-art technology called, membrane reactors technology known as MBR. The plant is considered to be one of the largest in the world that operates on this technology.”

Al Ansab plant project has been divided into a number of stages to make certain scheduled and smooth implementing.

The plant which was constructed and started operations in 2010 accommodated 57,300m3 per day and the capacity is anticipated to enhance and improve to get 125,000m3 per day following the expansion is full. Furthermore, the capacity of the Al Ansab plant will improve to 140,000m3 per day following the completion of phase III by the finish of 2022, Eng Lawati added.

The project has connected about 11,565 units to the sewage networks.

The total length of the sewage networks in the wilayat of Bausher is about 660km. In addition, the treated water distribution network length is about 87km and the fibre optic length is about 528km.
