The aircraft is on a 3-week demonstration tour to the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions.
The tour follows the completion of a effective flight test campaign, showcasing the aircraft’s design and style, efficiency and maturity.
It comes ahead of the initial delivery to Qatar Airways in the coming weeks.
Francois Obe, A350 XWB marketing and advertising director, client affairs mentioned, “The aircraft is the latest member of the A350 XWB family. The aircraft will shape the future of air travel by offering unprecedented levels of efficiency and comfort. The design results in 25 per cent fuel saving.”
He mentioned that A350-800 and A350-900 can just carry 276 and 325 passengers respectively compared to 366 to be carried by A350-1000. “In a typical three-class configuration 18-inch wide economy class seats for modern comfort, the A350-1000 can accommodate 366 passengers. Till date, 11 airlines have placed orders including 169 by Qatar Airways.”
During the tour, it will travel 55,500km, with stops in Doha, Muscat, Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei, Hanoi, Singapore, Bangkok, Sydney, Auckland, Tokyo and Manila.
The test aircraft is equipped with a totally functional cabin with 40 company class, 36 economy plus class and 219 comfort economy class seats.
