TRC announced at the finish of December that the deadline for the application will be extended till January 10 to give additional likelihood for different groups to submit their applications through its web site. Applicants can apply for two categories: Scientific Publishing, and Innovation. The award has a prize bag of RO20,000.
The award for Scientific Publishing consists of scientific papers published in refereed journals connected to the requirements of the sultanate in the field of water and consists of two categories: PhD researchers and non-PhD researchers.
The money prize for each categories is RO4,000, with RO1,000 getting supplied to the winner of each and every category.
The Innovation award is divided into Innovation category and Young Innovator category. Innovation category consists of revolutionary models, goods or solutions with operational positive aspects for people, analysis project teams, academic researchers, organizations and little and medium enterprises.
The Young Innovator category is meant to raise awareness amongst college students (grades 10-12) on water problems from an early age.
The Innovation award gives RO16,000 to winners. The winner of the Innovation category will get RO5,000. The initial runner-up will get RO4,000 and the second runner-up RO3,000. In the Young Innovator category for college students, RO1,200 will be provided to the winner.
The initial runner-up will get RO1,000, the second runner-up will get RO800 although these placed fourth and fifth will get RO500 each and every.
The Water Research and Innovation Award aims to boost the part of scientific analysis, encourage and help revolutionary initiatives to locate options to water problems and raise awareness on water problems in the sultanate.
