Walkways, cycle tracks coming up in Amerat

Eng Issa bin Salim al Riyami, director common of Muscat Municipality, Directorate General in the wilayat of Amerat stated, “The project aims to promote the practice of hiking and cycling. Seventy-five per cent of the project has been completed. Two tracks have been constructed with a length of 1,700m, and a width of 4m.”

The project will also consist of installation of green roofs and a quantity of trees and plants on the sides. “Green roofs will be put up and a number of trees and plants will be planted on the two sides of the walkways. The municipality has set up 59 lamp posts in the area.”

Murad bin Ahmed al Balushi, a member of the municipal council and representative of wilayat of Amerat stated, “The project is a step in the right direction because it will promote the health aspects of the community. It will help residents maintain their health. We hope to complete more such projects in other areas of the wilayat too.”
