Ministry of Health honours over 150 blood donors

This year, World Blood Donor Day is celebrated beneath the theme ‘Safe blood for all’. The occasion was held at Grand Millennium Muscat beneath the auspices of H E Dr Ali bin Talib al Hinai, Undersecretary for Planning Affairs, MoH, in the presence of a quantity of their excellencies and senior officials, in addition to representatives of the authorities and organisations that contributed to the good results of blood donation drives.

Delivering a speech, Dr Zainab Salim al Oraimi, director of the Blood Banks Services, pointed out that the theme of this year underlines the significance of accessing to inexpensive and timely supplies of protected and high quality-assured blood and blood goods, as an integral element of universal well being coverage and a important element of successful well being systems.

She highlighted the health-related achievements resulting from the ongoing blood donation drives which includes liver transplant operations, foetal blood transfusions, as effectively as bone marrow transplants and heart surgery.
