Thirty-5 performers of a group of different nationalities, referred to as Friends of the Bear, come collectively each and every evening to entertain guests at the Naseem Gardens venue of Muscat Festival. Speaking to Muscat Daily, Mohammed Mustafa, leader of the group, mentioned, “We have performers from Egypt, Lebanon, Russia and other nations in the team. Our performances contain dances and Russian circus.
“These shows have been very popular with visitors in Naseem Gardens, especially among the young ones. Many of our team members perform highly skilled acts. There are two daily shows – the first from 4.30pm to 4.45pm and the second from 6.30pm to 7pm. Muscat Festival is a great opportunity for us to present our performances.”
According to Mustafa, the group is participating in the festival for the second time in a row. “We will also present shows at Amerat for 15 days,” he mentioned.
Mohammed al Balushi, a visitor at Naseem Gardens, mentioned the Friends of the Bear shows are entertaining. “It’s a great show for children. I also like taking pictures of these entertainers. It’s a good thing that the festival will run for a month, so we can spend more time here,” he mentioned. Nasser al Salmi, yet another visitor at the festival, mentioned, “My children thoroughly enjoyed the Friends of the Bear show.”
