With this project, Oman is preparing for a white revolution equivalent to Operation Flood in India that transformed the nation from a milk-deficient nation into the world’s biggest milk producer. The agreement was signed in the presence of H E Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan bin Hamoud al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar.
The agreement was signed by Sheikh Musallam bin Said Qatan, chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Murooj Dairy, with IDMC officials. The agreement also offers for the provide of technologies and laboratory instruments to test the top quality of milk prior to it is received from cattle farmers.
Al Manarah Engineering Consultancy Company will offer the engineering style, qualification and supervision of contractors executing the engineering perform. Dhofar Cattle Feed Company will facilitate the sale of fresh milk, collected from the cattle farmers, to Al Murooj Dairy, which in turn will marketplace it as a final solution.
“This is one of the food security projects of the sultanate, which was launched within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries through the Oman Food Investment Holding Company to take the traditional production processes to the best international practices,” mentioned Dr Nasser bin Ali Bait Said, CEO of Al Murooj Dairy.
