72 cruise ships bring 165,000 tourists to PSQ in Q1 this year

These ships carried 165,000 tourists from distinct nations. The cruise tourism season starts in October and ends in April.

The Ministry of Tourism plays a significant function in the improvement of this sector to market the sultanate as a location for cruise ships, in coordination with the government agencies and private sector businesses.

It also coordinates with the cruise ship operators by offering facilities, permits and holding promotional campaigns.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications final week granted the proper to handle and operate the Khasab and Shinas ports to Marafi Company of the Oman Global Logistics Group (Asyad).

This is in line with the government’s technique to create Omani ports distributed along the coasts of the sultanate.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications seeks to market and create the logistics sector in a sustainable and integrated manner and implement plans to enhance and boost the administrative, regulatory and operational efficiency of the ports in the nation.

There is a strategy to perform on the improvement of some ports like Sohar, Sur, Duqm and Suwaiq to be utilized for getting cruise ships in future.
