Waljat College of Applied Sciences holds XIII Convocation

Muscat – 

The XIII Convocation of Waljat College of Applied Sciences (WCAS) in academic partnership with Birla Institute of Technology, India, was organised on Sunday, at Al Noor Plaza, Madinat as Sultan Qaboos beneath the auspices of chief guest, H E Sayyid Muslim al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Administrative Development, Ministry of Civil Service.

The attendees at the occasion have been prof Manoj Kumar Mishra, vice chancellor, Birla Institute of Technology, Dr Zuhoor Abdullah Salim al Khanjari, chairperson, Trustee Council of WCAS, Salem bin Nasser al Bortmany, Mohammed Mirza al Balushi, members of the Trustee Council of WCAS, prof A P Krishna, registrar BIT, Yogesh Goenka, honorary treasurer, BIT, Dr Utpal Baul, dean, Alumni and International Relations, BIT, prof (Dr) S L Gupta, dean, WCAS, prof (Dr) Alok Kumar Kushwaha, assistant dean – Academic, WCAS, Zaid Khalifa Said al Shekili, asst dean, Admin and HR, employees of WCAS, dignitaries from numerous ministries, parents of graduating students and other distinguished guests.

Three hundred and twenty eight students who graduated from various programmes have been awarded Degrees and Diplomas in their respective disciplines, of which 243 students got a Graduate degree, 45 students got a Diploma and 39 got a Master’s Degree and 1 student got an Advance Diploma. Waljat College of Applied Sciences also felicitated the toppers for the year 2017 with Gold Medals and Best Project awards.

Prof Mishra lauded the efforts of WCAS employees in preparing these graduates for this auspicious day. Dean Dr Gupta, congratulated the effective students on their achievements and wished them all the extremely greatest in their future endeavours. He also highlighted on the numerous laurels they brought to WCAS in the course of their study at the college. He also focused on the accomplishments of the employees in their numerous fields of interest.

Students who received their degrees thanked the management, faculty and other help employees who helped them and contributed substantially to their educational profession in the college.
