Vehicle entry charge announced for Ubar Archaeological Site

This is the very first time that an entry charge to the web site has been introduced.

This comes as per the Ministerial Decision eight/2018. The charges ought to be paid in money at the time of entry.

Meanwhile, the quantity of guests to the web site in June this year stood at 104, according

to statistics by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.

Ubar is 1 of the most crucial heritage web sites in Dhofar and was listed on Unesco’s World Cultural and Natural Heritage list in 2000, below the name of Land of Frankincense Sites.

The charges are as follows:

• RO2 for 4WD and tiny autos

• RO20 for tiny-sized buses

• RO50 for medium-sized buses

• RO100 for big-sized buses

four,669 pay a visit to archaeological web sites in June

Salalah – The quantity of guests to Al Baleed and Samahram archaeological web sites throughout June stood at four,669, according to statistics from the Department of Frankincense Land Sites at His Majesty the Sultan’s Advisor’s Office for Cultural Affairs.

Al Baleed Archaeological Park and Museum of the Frankincense Land received three,051 guests and Samahram archaeological web site received 1,333 guests. Wadi Dokka received 181 guests and Ubar Archaeological Site received 104 guests.

Al Baleed Archaeological Park, Samahram, ‘Shasir Area’ and Wadi Dokka are registered web sites on the World Heritage List below the name ‘Land of Frankincense’ web sites.

His Majesty the Sultan’s Advisor’s Office for Cultural Affairs is creating a number of archaeological web sites and supplying them with utilities to serve the targets of cultural and archaeological tourism in Dhofar.
