To commemorate the 242nd year of US independence and to pay tribute to the enduring partnership between the United States and the Sultanate of Oman, the US Embassy hosted its annual National Day celebration on Monday, at the Shangri-La Barr al Jissah Resort & Spa.

H E Marc J Sievers, US Ambassador to Oman welcomed the guest of honour, H E Mohammed bin Yousef bin Qasim al Zarafi, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other dignitaries from the Omani government and Council of Oman, stated a press release. 

Senior Omani civil and military officials, heads of foreign diplomatic missions, company representatives, and a number of other dignitaries also attended the ceremony. Guests enjoyed music by NATO/SHAPE band.

In his remarks, H E Sievers wished His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said excellent wellness, lengthy life, and good results in his endeavours.

He also hailed the Oman-US partnership, productive bilateral cooperation, and efforts to market peace, safety, and prosperity in the area.

H E Sievers also elaborated that the vibrant Oman-US connection is standing the test of time.

“Indeed, it is thriving. Our partnership has continued to evolve, yielding multiple benefits to the people of both countries, in each new period,” H E Sievers stated.
