The Royal Hospital, represented by the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology, on Tuesday organised a workshop titled, ‘Protocol for the use of CT Radiology’.

Mano Calra, professor of radiology at Harvard University in the US, was the resource individual of the occasion which was held in the presence of Dr Jokha bint Mubarak al Kalbaniya, consultant radiologist, and the director of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology at The Royal Hospital.

The workshop, carried out at the National Heart Center, saw a lot more than 100 participants such as physicians, radiologists and specialists in the field from different governmental and private well being institutions of different governorates of Oman.

Dr Kalbaniya mentioned different radiology devices, specifically the CT scan has turn out to be a prerequisite for the method of therapy and diagnosis in several illnesses.

Dr Saqr bin Hamad al Taie, consultant radiologist and head of the Supreme Committee for Diagnostic Imaging at the ministry, stressed the value of following the fundamentals and protocols to safeguard against radiation.
