Over 27,000 register for hajj 48% in age group of 30-45

Registrations that lasted for two weeks has observed the highest quantity because the commence of the electronic program for registering pilgrims, with a total of 27,059. Out of them 25,659 are Omanis, 945 Arab residents and 455 non-Arab residents.

The sultanate has a quota of 14,000 for this year’s pilgrimage.

According to figures, some 19,716 Omanis intend to carry out hajj. Applicants in the age group of 30-45 years comprise 48 per cent, although these in the age group of 60 and above are the lowest with 10.four per cent. Accordingly, most of Oman’s pilgrims will be young. This will also attain a quantity of positives that will reflect on the ease of performing hajj.

Hinai stated that the ministry will announce the authorized applications in the coming week.
He added that the authorized applicants want to pick hajj businesses as per the electronic program in the course of the specified ten days.
