Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) celebrated the graduation of 147 trainees, representing the seventh batch of trainees. The event also saw the welcoming of the eighth batch of trainees.

Orpic marks graduation of 147 trainees, welcomes new batch

The ceremony was held beneath the patronage of H E Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, chairman of the State Council, and it was attended by H E Sheikh Mohana bin Saif al Lamki, Governor of North Batinah, a quantity of walis, members of the State Council, members of Majlis A’Shura, representatives of government and private authorities, CEO of Orpic and its executive team. Ahmed bin Saleh al Jahdhami, CEO of Orpic, stated that 1,005 trainees have participated in the Orpic programme to create trainees’ skills more than the previous seven years.

“They have joined various technical and engineering disciplines in the fields of mechanical and electronic, precision machinery, firefighting and process technicians.” He added that these graduates are the workforce that will run the company’s development projects, such as the Liwa Plastic Industries Complex, the Muscat-Sohar Pipeline, the Jiffnain Plant and the Sohar Refinery Improvement Project, noting that this programme is the starting of the road to building expertise.
