Oman’s biggest industrial information centre to come up in Jebel Akhdar

The business has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cisco, which will offer information centre technologies and allow Data Mount design and style, deploy and safe its subsequent-generation cloud solutions in a information centre in Oman’s well-known green mountains – Jebel Akhdar.

The MoU establishes a framework for closer collaboration in between Cisco and Data Mount, leveraging Cisco’s revolutionary networking, information centre and safety infrastructure options, cloud hardware and managed solutions for cloud and collaboration. The MoU also outlines a quantity of prospective places for strategic cooperation to provide state-of-the-art cloud solutions in the information centre.

To meet the ever-increasing demand of Omani companies to host their critical IT infrastructure in the cloud, we are planning to build a brand new data centre in Jebel Akhdar. From there, we will offer customers the option to store their data securely in the cloud inside the country,” stated Abdull Hakeem al Muslahi, deputy chairman, Data Mount.

“Cisco, as a global technology leader and an expert in intelligent data centre technology, is the perfect company to help us in this project. We look forward to working closely with them and leveraging their knowledge, expertise, innovative technologies, best practices and skilled resources. From this new data centre, we plan to offer cloud and disaster recovery services to government organisations and enterprises, with a strong focus on the banking industry.”

The new information centre in Jebel Akhdar, positioned in the Al Hajar mountain variety will supply a protected and safe place with moderate temperatures, so that Data Mount can save on energy consumption and safeguard its information centre gear from overheating.
