“Some 40 apiarists from across the country will take part in the market. The four-day market is being organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries,” stated the Organising Committee at MoAF.
“The ministry seeks to support small and medium enterprises specialised in the production of honey, apiculture and sale of bee breeding accessories. It aims to find more outlets to promote Omani honey known for its high quality and nutritional value and highlight one of the most important products in the agricultural sector.”
It added, “The ministry in coordination with a specialised accredited laboratory in the
sultanate requires random samples of honey and do laboratory evaluation and make positive that the item meets the Omani specifications.”
The industry gives guests an chance to know about various varieties of honey such as Sidr, wild honey and Al Sumar.
