Geneva- H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah al Bakri, Minister of Manpower on Sunday represented Oman at the 107th session of the International Labour Conference being held in Geneva in Switzerland.

Oman requires component in ILO session

The delegation also consists of representatives of stakeholders which includes the Ministry of Manpower, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the General Federation of Oman Trade Unions.

The conference is discussing reports of the chairperson of the governing physique and of the director common, details and reports on the application of conventions and suggestions. Also efficient improvement cooperation of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in help of the Sustainable Development Goals, elimination of discrimination in enterprise planet and concerns connected to the strategic objective of social dialogue are getting discussed as well.

A meeting was held among the GCC labour ministers and the ILO director common to talk about the help supplied by ILO to GCC states by means of coaching and employment programmes. The meeting stressed the value of organising seminars about future jobs in the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR).

On the sidelines of the conference, H E Bakri, Minister of Manpower met with the Jordanian Minister of Labour and Moroccan Minister of Labour and Vocational Merger.

H E Bakri discussed with them indicates of enhancing cooperation and sharing experiences in education and vocational coaching field, as nicely as the future expertise necessary by the labour industry.

The meetings had been attended by Oman’s Ambassador to the UN Permanent Commission in Geneva and heads of the production stakeholders.
