Oman Dates Development Company set to be incorporated these days

The newly-established business will be the investment arm of the One Million Date Palm Trees Project, which was ordered by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. The ceremony will be held beneath the auspices of Dr Khamis bin Saif al Jabri, head of the Implementation and Follow up Support Unit.

This is element of the financial diversification initiative of the National Program for Enhancing Economic Diversification (Tanfeedh). The UK-primarily based Systemic Innovation, a business in the field of innovation, has been appointed to conduct feasibility research for date palm tree items and wastes, in cooperation with the Industrial Innovation Center. The second stage of the project targets planting Al Fardh date palms (80 per cent or 800,000), Khalas (eight per cent or 80,000), Bunaringa (four per cent or 40,000), Al Majdool (four per cent or 40,000) and Al Fuhool (four per cent or 40,000). The One Million Date Palm Trees Project aims to generate 96,000 tonnes of dates and about 56,000 tonnes of date palm items, such as fronds, trunks, trunk bases, offshoot and other people.
