The signing ceremony was held at Occidental Oman’s headquarters in Muscat beneath the auspices of H E Sheikh Ma’adhad bin Mohammed bin Abdullah al Yaqubi, Governor of Al Wusta. Steve Kelly, president and common manager of Occidental Oman, and Sulayem bin Ali bin Sulayem al Hikmani, chairperson of the Board of Directors of the club, had been signatories for their respective organisations.
Saif bin Khalfan al Busaidi, vice president for HR, Admin and CSR and other management members of Occidental Oman and the club had been present at the ceremony.
Since its foundation in 2014, the club has been actively involved in numerous cultural and sport programmes that serve the youth in all 4 Wilayats of Al Wusta, namely, Haima, Mahout, Duqm and Al Jaser. The Al Wusta Club produced a outstanding achievement by qualifying from the second to the initial division of the Oman football league inside a single year of joining the league.
“During the last season, we competed in the first division of the Oman football league and secured a place among the top four teams. With the support and sponsorship of Occidental Oman for the upcoming season, we look forward to achieving a better accomplishment that would make the people of Al Wusta governorate feel proud of this club,” mentioned Hikmani.
