Making the opening remarks at the symposium held lately, Subba Rao, hospital director, MPH, mentioned that the main objective of the conference was to disseminate understanding of the most recent developments in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and also to share the high quality and state-of-the-art MPH Obstetrics and Gynaecology solutions with the outdoors medical doctors. Apart from offering the most recent advances and developments in Gynaecology and Obstetrics, an update on the revised protocols in the day-to-day practice was explained to the 90 delegates from Oman who attended the conference.
On the subject ‘Optimisation of Ovarian Stimulation protocols for Assisted Reproduction’, Dr Majida al Irhayim, senior consultant Ob/Gyn and Infertility, head of the In-Virto Fertilisation (IVF) Unit, MPH spoke at length. Dr Sameer Azzawi, senior consultant haematologist and head of Laboratory Services at MHP, spoke on haematological issues in pregnancy, whilst Dr Najwa Saif, senior specialist, Infertility, highlighted the danger and associated predisposing elements of ectopic pregnancies and IVF remedy.
Dr Kanchana Rajan, consultant and head of Women’s Health Services at MPH, presented on the ‘Role of Tranexamic acid in Postpartum Hemorrhage’ whilst Dr Elena Lukanskajja, specialist, Obstetrics and Gynaecology at MPH, talked about Hellp Syndrome and Acute Fatty Liver in pregnancy. Dr Zainab Ali, specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology explained in detail about gestational thrombocytopenia. Dr Aisha El Gassim, specialist, Obstetrics and Gynaecologist, discussed intriguing instances of gestational thrombocytopenia.
Dr Raymond Elias, health-related director, MPH, was a single of the moderators along with Dr Azzawi and Dr Kanchana.
