, Bashir al Riyami, a member of the committee involved in organising the mass wedding, stated, “The social committee at the office of the Wali of Seeb announced about this initiative in September. Speaking about the initiative, Riyami stated, “We circulated the information on several social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. We received more than 1,000 phone calls and 300 text messages from youths in Seeb. We have selected 48 youths for the ceremony which will be held at Seeb Sports Stadium on November 20.”
Ibrahim bin Mubarak, a groom stated, “I am happy to be part of the mass wedding ceremony on November 20 coinciding with the National Day celebrations. Youths need such initiatives because marriage costs are high.” Another groom Muzahim Ahmed al Khanjari stated, “I am proud to participate in it as it helps reduce marriage costs.
